Silence for Sandy Hook

I am literally heart broken over yesterday's events. I've cried multiple times and cannot even fathom what the families, friends, and staff of Sandy Hook are experiencing at this moment. Sadly, as a teacher, we are required to train and prepare for the unspeakable but pray that we will never resort to using it. While the crimes are changing with the times, it's still the same ole devil at work. And thankfully (Praise God), the same Savior! I am taking comfort in the fact that the God I serve,  cares for all the families that are experiencing sadness due to their losses and is rejoicing with 20 sweet babies in heaven! I'm claiming Psalms 46:1, "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." Please join me in prayer and a time of silence in remembrance of this awful tragedy. I will certainly be hugging my students a little tighter on Monday.

December Homework Pack - Finally!

Ohmiword! Has it really been almost a month since I've posted? Ya'll, I'm telling ya what...it's been nuts. Can anyone relate? Sadly, there will be a lot of rewind posts over the next few weeks. ha Although Thanksgiving is behind us, some of the stuff we did in my classroom is just too sweet not to share. I'll be doing some flashback posts over the next few weeks so please hang with me. Anyways, I wanted to share with you my December Homework Pack. I've partnered up with Katie Mense from Little Warriors to create monthly homework packs. We so appreciate you being patient with us both and providing us with wonderful feedback. I'm loving the opportunity to work with Katie - she is great! Check out what we've made for this month.
Do you have parents asking you what they can work on with their kinders at home? Not sure what to send with them? Here's your answer! This packet was created by 2 Kindergarten teachers with 2 different curriculum....so there is lots of variety and ideas! This is the fourth homework pack in a series of monthly packs to reinforce your students' skills throughout the year.

This packet includes:
~Weekly homework calendars (5 weeks included) that lay out which activities should be completed each night. (There are 5 different calendar options that give you choices on how many assignments you require your students to complete each week.)
~A December Family project
~Response sheets for your students to complete for each activity

Look like fun?? Then, please check out our December pack! There is a new family project and of course, a skill to work on for each day of the month that are all presented in fun ways. Thanks for looking. I promise I'll be back this week with some fun posts and a giveaway. You won't wanna miss it!

Parent/Teacher Conference freebie!

Parent/Teacher Conferences were today.....and I'm worn out! Nineteen conferences later (that's right....19) and I think I'm half brain dead. ha They were great though and I am certainly blessed with wonderful students and parents. I always try to greet my parents with a smile, encourage them to sign in, and have some type of candy waiting. Here was my set up today - simple, but sweet. I thought the fern was fun, too. ha
Here's a little sheet I try to send home with parents. Unfortunately, I didn't get around to it this year but thought you all might find it helpful. Click the link below to snag from google docs and let me know if you do anything special for P/T Conferences. Please share and leave some love. Happy conferencing!

A little late...product swap fun!

Hey ya'll! I've been so busy, I've completely forgotten to feature my product swap. You all know my rule of thumb...better late than never. ha For those of you not familiar with Mrs. Stanford's product swap - you must get involved! So fun!
I was super excited to be paired up with Donna Glynn from Kinderglynn. This woman is all kinds of awesome in my book and was one of the first blogs I discovered way back when I joined the blog world. She shares a lot of great ideas and has wonderful ideas in her TpT store. Go check her out.
Anyways, I searched her store and seriously could not decide what to choose - Donna has a TON of products I want! I decided on her Beginning of the Year Morning Math Packet and was more than happy with all that was included.
This math packet includes 93 pages of goodies for you to use as morning math work or supplemental material for you to create a math journal. It has everything from missing number, pattern, and graphing pages to ways to make 10, color, and word problem pages. Not to mention, so much more.
I was more than excited to find items I could use immediately and even stick in a math work station! If you're like me, you are always struggling to find time to do a quickie math journal and sending a journal home at the end of the year with a ton of empty pages. Ok, well maybe it's just me...ha ha...but anyways, I completely feel like with this packet  - that will NOT happen. Her packet is reasonably priced at $6.00 and certainly could be used throughout the year.

Hop on over to Donna's blog and check her out....leave her some love and become a follower. You'll be happy you did. And a big thank you shout out to Jessica for coordinating the swap - loads of fun. Have a great Saturday, friends!
